We supply advice on how to approach the repair of solid walled structures

This can range from a discussion on site to a fully detailed conservation management plan with specifications and costs. TLC also offers specialist advice to prospective buyers and owners of solid walled houses by way of pre- and post-purchase inspections. TLC’s reports are based on real-world local knowledge saving solid walled buildings which are suffering from the damaging effects of inappropriate modern materials.

Currently, the majority of house surveys are carried out by experts in cavity wall buildings and yet one third of the housing stock in Wales was built before 1919 with solid walls.  Most of these houses have been materially abused in some way or other over the years and if you’re thinking of buying one, it is wise to seek advice as to how they can be put right. It can also help to have an indication as to how much these repairs might cost.

Not only can we tell you what is wrong and how to repair it, but we can also point out the interesting and increasingly rare survivals of historic material in your house. The cost of our reports vary depending on the size of building and the extent of problems encountered.
