Eight years ago, working closely with the diocese of Swansea and Brecon, TLC saved the building from the extensive damage being caused to its stone by the ill advised work completed in the 1920s using Portland cement. The stone had been “exposed” for a hundred years and, inevitably, the return to a limewashed finish proved controversial but absolutely necessary from both a functional and aesthetic point of view. The newly applied limewash will protect the stone and lime pointing for another eight years or more.
