Its chimneys were in a poor state and the cottage needed rewiring to make it safe and cosy. TLC rebuilt the chimneys and attended to the lime-works. The front faces east, away from the prevailing weather, so it has been flush pointed and limewashed in a beautiful yellow ochre colour. As is often the tradition in west Wales, the side and rear have been limewashed white – after all, pigment has always cost money so why waste it round the back? The result is a lovely contrast between the white roughcast pine end and the yellow front.
